ARB 4x4 Accessories is the latest publically-listed national corporation to establish its Queensland distribution hub in Investa Land's New Base Business Park at Brendale, north of Brisbane.
Australia's largest manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket 4WD accessories, ARB has secured a 2.2 hectare site at New Base Stage 1 to construct a new purpose-built warehousing facility of approximately 8,500sq m.
The ARB deal brings total sales at Investa Land's 85 hectare New Base industrial estate to $30 million in the last 12 months. This includes the sale of a 10.5 hectare site for the development of a new landmark distribution centre for Super Retail Group.
Justin Sherlock, Investa Land Development Manager, said ARB is another high-profile addition to New Base that further enhances its standing as the premier industrial hub on Brisbane’s northside.
He said the ARB sale, on the back of last year’s Super Retail Group deal, highlights the appeal of New Base for blue-chip national businesses seeking strategic positioning, access and space to service their markets.
“For a national company such as ARB to choose New Base for a new design and construct facility is yet another vote of confidence in the location and the overall offering of the development,” he said.
The ARB land sale at New Base was facilitated by Michael Cross and Mark Scammells of SP Partners.
Mr Cross said Development Approval for the new ARB facility is expected from the Moreton Bay Regional Council shortly, with the first sod to be turned for construction mid-year in anticipation of a pre-Christmas occupancy.
He said New Base is the largest General Industry zoned industrial park on Brisbane's northside, is accessed by three main arterial roads and is only 24km to the Brisbane airport and CBD.
“It’s a unique offering in the Brisbane industrial market which is reflected by the ongoing demand for large land parcels from major national businesses as well as the flexible solutions provided for smaller to medium companies,” he said.
Mr Sherlock said Investa Land has now sold in excess of 80% of the current release at New Base and sales activity remained strong, as evidenced by the recent landmark deals with national retail groups and total sales at the estate hitting $30 million in the last 12 months.
He said the strategic northside location, access to major arterial roads and range of land sizes and development options on offer made New Base well suited to a wide variety of businesses.
"New Base is at the heart of Brendale’s emergence as a dynamic new business hub and is now the industrial location of choice in Brisbane's fast-growing northern corridor,” he said.
