In December 2013, Investa was jointly recognised when the Australian Business Roundtable for Disaster Resilience and Safer Communities was awarded a Highly Commended at the Federal Government’s National Resilient Australia Awards in Canberra. The award recognises the Roundtable’s contribution to public policy to help government, business and communities better prepare for natural disasters.

The Roundtable was recognised for its ‘Building our Nation’s Resilience to Natural Disasters’ White Paper which calls for a more effective prioritisation of mitigation expenditure, based on the national interest and on the best economic return.

“We are very pleased that the White Paper has been recognised by Government as a nationally significant piece of work. We are making progress and look forward to all levels of government working as one to ensure resilience policy is as effective and economic across the country as possible,” said IAG Managing Director & CEO, Mike Wilkins.
