On Monday 3rd September, the Investa Sustainability Institute received a “Highly Commended” award for Climate Change Leadership at the 2012 NSW Green Globe awards for ‘Pulse’, our innovative visualisation tool for identifying energy efficiency improvements in buildings. Congratulations to everyone in the Facilities and Property Management  teams particularly for their engagement and involvement in making the initiative so successful. Investa won three Green Globes last year, including the 2011 NSW Premiers Award for Environmental Excellence.

The Green Globes are the leading environment awards, recognising environmental excellence, leadership and innovation in NSW. This year the awards were presented by the Hon Robyn Parker MP, NSW Minister for the Environment (shown here with some of the Investa SSHE team).

Ms Parker said the annual Awards celebrated individuals and organisations leading the State in environmental innovation.

“Now in their 13th year, the competition is truly intense and becoming even more competitive each year; a testament to the fact that NSW leads the world in a number of areas of sustainability,” Ms Parker said.

The winner of the NSW Premiers Award for Sustainability was Mission Australia for its ‘Soft Landing’  Illawarra based mattress recycling program. The social enterprise has recycled 100,000 mattresses in 10 months from around Sydney and created 65 green jobs for long-term unemployed and disadvantaged people in the Illawarra region.
