Staff of Georges Fair presented a cheque for $3361 to Liverpool Hospital’s Director of Pediatrics, Dr Paul Chay this morning, the result of successful fundraising at the Moorebank community’s inaugural Family Fun Day.
The funds raised will enable the Hospital to purchase an additional pulse oxymeter for the Children’s Ward. This piece of equipment measures a child’s oxygen saturation level and informs nursing staff immediately if a child’s medical condition deteriorates.
“We are very fortunate to have such strong support from the local community,” said Dr Paul Chay Liverpool Hospital Director of Paediatrics.
“Sick children will benefit for this additional equipment which allows for their blood oxygen level to be monitored in a noninvasive and painless way,” he said.
Georges Fair is a vibrant community being developed by Investa Property Group and Urbex on the site of the former Austral brickworks at Moorebank.
“It brings a smile to the face of everyone involved with Georges Fair to be able to donate $3361 to Liverpool Hospital, which does a wonderful job of helping local families in their time of need,” said Nathan Huon, Senior Development Manager, Investa Land.
“There’s a strong community spirit among the residents of Georges Fair, which was demonstrated by their enthusiasm to support their local hospital at the Family Fun Day,” Mr Huon said.
