New beehives at 420 George Street, Sydney

Beehives being installed at 420 George St Sydney

Investa is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Rooftop Bees, who have installed two beehives at 420 George Street, Sydney. This initiative aligns with the company's ESG strategy, Transform Tomorrow, and brings their commitment to be nature-positive to life by contributing to bringing nature back to Sydney’s CBD.

The Investa bees will pollinate an area up to 78.5 square kilometers and the beehives will support over 120,000 bees, and the industrious pollinators will produce up to 100kg of local honey annually. Each beehive has a Queen Bee, who were named Gertrude and George-ina by occupants in the 420 George Street building. In addition to enjoying the honey produced by the rooftop bees, occupants will have the opportunity to engage in activities such as beeswax lip balm making and beeswax candle rolling.

Bees play a crucial role in the ecosystem. Their pollination efforts support biodiversity, ensuring the health and growth of plants and flowers. This, in turn, supports other wildlife and contributes to a balanced and thriving environment.
