120 Collins Street | Celebrating Investa's 25 years

120 Collins Street, Melbourne, lobby

The tallest building in Australia for 14 years – and still regarded as the country's tallest office tower – 120 Collins Street stands proudly in Melbourne’s prestigious ‘Paris-end’ of the central business district.

We’re celebrating our 25th birthday this year and featuring some of our most iconic buildings to recognise the contribution they’ve made to shaping our cities and modern workplaces.

Completed in 1991 and acquired by Investa in 2003 as part of the Principal Office Fund take-over, 120 Collins Street was designed by architectural firm, Hassell.

An example of post-modernist architecture, 120 Collins Street had a significant makeover last year – also done by Hassell – that created a new lobby with double and triple-height glass walls with floating mezzanines and a gallery-style glass atrium roof with a bookable Sky Deck.

The new lobby space provides connectivity both to Collins and Little Collins Streets and all of the retail and dining the area affords but also for the occupants of the building with so many spaces in which to catch up.

The newly refurbished 120 Collins Street is a great example of how a well-designed building that encourages connection is helping bring people back to our CBDs and offices.
