Monday 8 March is International Women’s Day, an annual day where people come together across the globe to celebrate to social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. International Women’s Day is also an opportunity to reflect on gender inequalities, particularly in light of the impact of Covid-19 on women. Throughout the pandemic, women have experienced particular challenges, including increased caring responsibilities, higher levels of economic insecurity and, sadly, increased levels of domestic violence.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. This year’s International Women’s Day theme is ‘Choose to Challenge’, recognising that each of us have a role to play in creating a more equal and inclusive world. We’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions. We can all chose to call out gender bias and inequality and to celebrate women’s achievements. Watch our International Women’s Day video. and see how some of our employees pledge they will #choosetochallenge not just today, but everyday.
