Investa launches 10-year First Nations Strategy shaped by independent advisory group

Written by Investa | 29 July 2026

Investa has launched a 10-year First Nations Strategy, Grounded in Country, growing together, embedding First Nations perspectives across its business and the places it creates.

Developed in partnership with an independent First Nations Reference Group (FNRG), the strategy is among the first of its kind in the Australian property sector and reflects a growing opportunity for the industry to play a more active role in reconciliation.

The strategy takes a long-term, place-based approach, focusing on delivering measurable economic, cultural and social outcomes through the built environment and Investa’s partnerships, procurement and people.

Liam Harte, Proud Dunghutti man and Co-Founder and Director Tika EQ, Board Member New South Wales Indigenous Chamber of Commerce and South-Eastern Sydney Local Health District and FNRG member said, said the strategy demonstrates what can be achieved through genuine collaboration.

“Focused on place-based reconciliation, Grounded in Country, growing together connects Investa’s business to the lands on which its buildings sit,” Mr Harte said.

“Working with Investa’s Connected Communities Working Group has been a genuinely collaborative process, where we have listened and learnt together.”

The strategy is structured around three core pillars:

    • Country – embedding cultural recognition and knowledge in the built environment
    • Culture – building cultural intelligence and mutual respect across people, partners and places
    • Community – creating shared prosperity through genuine partnership

Amy Wild, Chief Operating Officer, Corporate and Chair of the Connected Communities Working Group, said embedding First Nations perspectives would be critical to achieving meaningful, long-term change.

“Meaningful change requires First Nations perspectives to be embedded from the outset. This strategy is the result of sustained consultation and partnership,” Ms Wild said.

“Our First Nations Reference Group will continue to guide implementation, ensuring First Nations voices remain central as we align our projects, policies and operations.”

The strategy builds on Investa’s existing commitments and sets a clear pathway for the next decade.

The strategy was officially launched at a stakeholder event on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, attended by Investa’s partners, investors and industry representatives.
