One of Australia's most influential figures in coworking will launch his first Sydney Cubes.Co hub in the heart of the CBD as flexible working models become a mainstream part of Australia's core work infrastructure and attracts the attention of larger corporate businesses.
Tobi Skovron, the driving force behind the Cubes.Co Group says the coworking network has attracted more than 35,000 accounts a month across its 15 spaces in Victoria, South Australia, and now New South Wales. The customers comprise a broad range of industries and sizes, from solo founders and household brand names to ASX-listed organisations.
"The sentiment toward coworking has flipped significantly in the past few years," he said. "Coworking used to be seen as an intermediary option, but now, it's seen as a competitive edge. The product has grown and now attracts global brands, banks, scale-ups, and government bodies."
"Bigger companies have realised they can achieve flexibility, connectivity, and efficiency through coworking and that being locked into an underutilised space no longer makes sense to their long-term goals."
Recent data from Colliers reflects this observation. In the year to September 2025, hybrid-flex offerings increased by 34 per cent in Sydney while recording the highest national growth since 2020, rising 4.9 per cent year-on-year.
According to the data, there are approximately 200 flex operators nationwide, of which just over a fifth (21 per cent) have expanded their existing footprint. Tobi says his expansion into Sydney is "just the beginning".
"The Sydney market was the most important missing piece in our Cubes.Co network," he explained. "When you've got staff travelling between cities, a network of coworking spaces becomes an extension of your own office. Your team can pick up in Sydney exactly where they left off in Melbourne without you carrying the cost of duplicate and underutilised offices."
Paul Williams, Owner, Manager and Broker at Mortgage Choice, agrees. The benefits of utilising a coworking network for his seven-site franchise have been endless.
"On any given day, our team might be working across four different locations, from Melbourne to Sydney, or even Geelong and the experience is seamless," he shared. "The launch of Cubes.Co in Sydney puts us closer to our referral partners and clients and the collaborative strength of the Cubes.Co community opens growth opportunities that we wouldn't otherwise have access to."
He said the ability to scale the office space to the size of the company, access prime-grade facilities, and the Cubes.Co network's efficient design were another driving factor behind his franchises' uptake in coworking.
Located at 347 Kent Street, the new Cubes.Co Sydney hub at King + Kent is designed for teams of 2 to 100 people, set within a modern A-grade building with expansive Darling Harbour views, managed by Investa on behalf of the Investa Gateway Offices Fund.
Johanna Watson, General Manager at Investa, shared, "We're delighted to welcome Cubes. Co's first NSW hub to King + Kent, taking 2,629sqm across levels 11 and 12. It's a strong endorsement of the building's repositioning and the leasing momentum we're seeing, as the market continues to favour premium, well-amenitised workplaces that build community and support modern ways of working."
To celebrate the milestone, Tobi will be joined by Cubes.Co CEO Michael Benson and key stakeholders to cut a pink ribbon and officially launch the product to market. The coworking space has already attracted the attention of large international businesses looking to make waves in Australia through coworking.
"Launching in Sydney isn't just another site for us; it's a statement that Cubes.Co is here to play a leading role in the future of work in Australia's biggest market, driven by our 'best or nothing' approach."
