We are thrilled to announce the jointly owned Sixty Martin Place by Investa Commercial Property Fund (ICPF) and Gwynvill has been named as the winner of the Innovation Development Award in this year’s Urban Taskforce Development Excellence Awards.

The awards celebrate developments that achieve the best outcomes for all stakeholders as well as time, cost and quality. More specifically recognising the innovative, sustainable and cutting-edge technology features of Sixty Martin Place.

Highly regarded for its design excellence by the City of Sydney, the striking 33-storey building has been a welcome addition to the CBD skyline, completely revitalising the eastern end of Martin Place.

Sixty Martin Place was completed on time and on budget delivering a highly successful leasing campaign with the building 96% leased at practical completion and exceeding all targeted financial returns.

“This award is a great acknowledgement of the innovative design solution featuring the cantilever over the historic St Stephens Church, along with an abundance of ‘smart building technology’ incorporated into the development” said Mark Tait, Group Executive, Head of Developments at Investa.

“Sixty Martin Place is host to the latest in intelligent building systems delivering an enhanced, hyper-personalised user experience whist creating the most efficient operational environment.”

“Key to the project’s success was a culture of collaboration. Leveraging deep stakeholder and industry relationships and a combination of creative development planning and design understanding, Investa successfully negotiated the acquisition of air rights over the adjacent heritage building and additional changes to the planning regulations, resulting in an additional 8,000 sqm of NLA in the prime high-rise location”.

The award joins a growing list of recognitions received by Sixty Martin Place since it opened its doors in Q4, 2019.
