14 Dec 2010: Investa was again recognised for its market leadership in sustainability and environmental management this month, winning the prestigious Award for Environment at Ethical Investor’s 10th Australian Sustainability Awards.

Selected from 17 nominees, including many of Australia’s most prominent public companies, Investa was identified as having shown the following;
  1. Leadership – an 8 year track record of ever more comprehensive environmental performance data;
  2. Achievement – independently assured statistics from which to claim the lowest environmental impact of any product of its type in Australia;
  3. Innovation – developing interactive tools to enable its property tenants to analyse environmental performance; and launching a Sustainability Institute to pursue action research on the built environment.
Nominations for the Awards are made by industry experts and readers of Ethical Investor magazine and are vetted by a nominating committee.

Craig Roussac, Investa’s General Manager, Sustainability, Safety and Environment commented: “This Award is a testament to the vigilance and efforts of all of our property services and facilities management teams, and recognises Investa’s leadership, achievement and innovation in the area of environmental management and reporting.”

This is Investa’s second award in this category and one of many Awards received by the company demonstrating leadership in sustainability.

In July 2008, Investa was awarded one of Australia’s most prestigious sustainability awards, the Banksia Climate Change Award and this year has won a range of awards including the prestigious NSW Government’s Green Globe Award for commercial property sustainability, an Australian Web Award for Innovation for Investa’s 2009 Sustainability Report, the Energy Efficiency Award at the Master Builders Association’s Excellence in Construction Awards for the ARK development, and the Australian Property Institute’s Environmental Development Award for Excellence, also for ARK.
