The Right Honourable Lord Mayor, Robert Doyle officially opens 567 Collins Street, Melbourne

On Thursday 12th November 2015, the inspirational new Melbourne office tower, 567 Collins Street was officially opened at an evening launch event hosted by Investa Office.

Guests had the opportunity to take in the grandeur of the six metre high lobby space, before being escorted to level 26, where the event took place in the inspiring and innovative new open workspace tenanted by leading legal firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

The Right Honourable Lord Mayor for the City of Melbourne, Robert Doyle, was the guest of honour and speaker at the event. He said: “This site lay vacant for 40 years and was an eyesore. Today we have an elegant new addition to the city’s landscape. 567 Collins Street will become an important anchor building in this emerging midtown business district of the CBD. The owners and developers investment in this precinct is an important indicator of confidence in our city’s prosperity and growth.”

Campbell Hanan, CEO Investa Office also spoke at the launch. He said: “We are very excited to be officially opening this remarkable building. The building will be a fantastic amenity for the Melbourne CBD, and certainly sets new standards with regards to connectivity, floor space, and flexibility for tenants.”

Located on Melbourne’s most prestigious street, the building offers unprecedented connectivity, flexible floor plates and a wide range of premium grade services and amenities.

Set over 26 levels of office space, the building has a Net Lettable Area of approximately 55,000 square metres, which includes a two-storey foyer with a lobby, cafe and retail component (“The Grid”).

Vibrant and lively, The Grid includes a tantalising combination of cafes and restaurants, and offers a first-class amenity in the resurgent west end of the city. The laneway-style environment gives both tenants and members of the public an opportunity to come together, hold informal meetings or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Food and beverage operators include Black Rice, Pho Nom, Earl Canteen, Sushia, Spudbar, Guzman Y Gomez and Jaffle Jaffle.

The building also boasts end-of-trip facilities to encourage a balanced and healthy lifestyle for tenants who actively commute to and from work or exercise during the day. The overall design philosophy provides tenants with a unique workplace that encourages openness, transparency and a communal approach to doing business.

Co-owned by Investa Commercial Property Fund and Investa Office Fund, the building is 83% leased after terms were agreed for 2,050 square metres on level 20. Current tenants include Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Australian infrastructure company Jemena, Leighton Contractors, Regus and a state-of-the-art Virgin Active Health Club. Discussions are taking place with potential future tenants for the four remaining floors.
