Due to its gradient, a portion of the C-Air development at Hillarys in Perth Western Australia would have required major civil works (and the associated environmental impacts and costs) in order to produce the flat building sites that are generally expected in that market. Multi-level housing removes the need for separate mass retaining walls, thereby reducing the material that goes to landfill, and maintains views for the existing residences that surround the development.
This innovative approach was applied to the sloping portion of the site and, coupled with the sale of the effected lots to a single builder, delivered a highly efficient outcome. |
