Local buyers have been the first purchasers of land at Somerview Park, the new residential community under construction adjacent to the sought-after Somerset Park.
Investa Property Group is developing the expansive 120 hectare site, situated east of Government Road at Thornton. The current land release provides lots with district views across the semi rural landscape.
Among the first to put down her deposit was Krystal West. Krystal was keen to secure a large block of land on which to build a dream home with her partner Mark and benefit from the capital growth they are expecting in the coming years.
“This land is exactly what we were looking for. The lots are generously sized and affordable. We’ve visited many land releases in the area and we feel Somerview Park offers better value for money than others we’ve seen,” said Krystal West.
“I grew up in Maitland and my parents live in Somerset Park, so I know the area well. It’s a great place to live, peaceful and very safe. It’s well located if you want to head into Maitland or Newcastle.”
“We believe that Thornton is an up-and-coming area. Ten years down the track, if we want to sell our house we think we’ll get a good price because this is a neighbourhood that families find attractive.” Ms West said.
Somerview Park is already taking shape, with construction underway on roads and several homes. Extensive landscaping was undertaken early in the planning process to ensure that leafy streetscapes present an established outlook as soon as possible.
