Equis Lake is taking shape

Within weeks, an impressive entry statement from Roxburghe Drive will welcome visitors to the estate and a children’s playground will bring the community park to life.

6–star rating

The six–star energy efficiency rating at Equis Lake gives residents the satisfaction of knowing that they’re contributing to a more sustainable community. Design guidelines at the estate go beyond ensuring that an aesthetically appealing streetscape will be maintained. The guidelines provide a framework for home owners to work within, to ensure their home will be energy efficient and water-wise.

Minor considerations, such as the correct placement of internal doors and the installation of water-saving tapware and toilets can bring long term cost savings for families, and environmental benefits for the future. Read how simple it was for Equis Lake’s Jo Rodgers to ensure her new home achieved the six-star rating in the “First Home Complete” article.

Partnering with PGA

Australia’s leading PGA professional golfers will be among the competitors teeing off at the WA Brunel PGA Championship at The Vines Resort and Country Club from 17th to 23rd October. Spectator entry to the event is by gold coin donation to charities working with disadvantaged children. Investa is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the event, supporting our neighbourhood club in bringing a high-calibre sporting event to the Swan Valley.

First home complete

Long term Swan Valley resident, Jo Rodger, is convinced that Equis Lake’s tranquil setting and lifestyle benefits will appeal to locals and attract new families to the region.

Jo and her husband Stuart were among the first to purchase land at Equis Lake. Their property will be the first to complete at the estate when landscaping is finalised in mid-October.

“Equis Lake is such an attractive estate, with homes positioned around the lake. Plus it offers a great location, so close to the golf course, wineries and good restaurants,” said Jo.

The couple has lived in The Vines for six years and watched the popularity of the area rise.

They have built a home at Equis Lake as an investment property, confident that the land offers excellent value for money, and that the private estate will appeal to quality tenants.

“People love this area because of the lifestyle it offers and its semi-rural environment. They want to be out of the suburbs. Once people move here, they seem to stay,” said Jo.

Jo was particularly impressed with the covenants at Equis Lake, including the requirement for all homes to achieve six star environmental rating.

“We thought initially that it would be difficult to achieve the six star rating but it was simple. We spoke to our builder and made several minor changes that will reduce energy bills. It was well worth it,” Jo said.

Changes included increasing the amount of insulation in the ceiling and adding extra internal doors between the bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
