Your Home Buyer's Guide
Clarendon Residential, a division of Investa Property Group, has partnered with the Australian Greenhouse Office (Department of Environment and Heritage), Department of Environment and Climate Change (NSW), Landcom, the Building Commission (Vic), Sustainability Victoria, the Environmental Protection Agency (Qld), the Department of Planning and Infrastructure (WA) and the West Australian Planning Commission to produce an innovative new guide for project home buyers.
The 'Your Home Buyer's Guide' focuses on the specific needs of new project home buyers. The Guide steps buyers through the decisions they'll need to make at each stage of the process.
Information about sustainability is incorporated, but not highlighted as 'green'. Instead, all of the information is focused on enabling the buyers of new homes to make good decisions. For example, information on how to lower their heating and cooling bills through better insulation, good orientation, zoning of rooms etc. is included alongside information on selecting floor coverings and paint colours.
An online version of the Guide (including calculators for lighting and white goods) is available via the www.yourhome.gov.au/buyersguide website. Hard copies of the Guide are available from the project partners or Clarendon's website, www.clarendon.com.au
