2009 Actions & Indicators

For 2009, we have restructured our key actions and indicators to align with the environment, society and employees structure of our report and of our sustainability website.

Environment

  • Energy and Greenhouse
    • Achieve a weighted average CO2-e emission intensity of 105kg.CO2-e/m2 by March 2010.
    • Achieve a weighted average electricity use intensity of 100kWh/m2 by March 2010.
    • Achieve a weighted average NABERS Energy rating of 4.5 stars by March 2010.
    • Investigate initiatives to facilitate production and use of renewable energy on development sites - and pilot a renewable energy project.
  • Water
    • Achieve a weighted average water use intensity of 700L/m2 by March 2010.
    • Achieve a weighted average NABERS rating of 3.5 stars by March 2010.
    • Implement Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) on all new development sites and set water quality targets for each site by 31 December 2009.
  • Waste
    • Commence detailed reporting of contractor Construction and Demolition (C&D) stats and achieve >75% diversion across all projects by 31 March 2010.
    • Divert 85% of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) waste from landfill to recycling by 31 March 2010.
    • Standardise and raise standards in waste management planning and implementation.
    • Minimise cut and fill on sites.
    • Achieve zero pollution/potential to pollute incidents.
  • Biodiversity
    • Ensure all public landscaping is indigenous and/or low water use species.

Society

  • Implement programs to consult and engage the community on all new development sites by 31 December 2009.

Employees

  • Recruitment & Selection
    • Ensure ≥90% of new employees stay with Investa for longer than 12 months.
  • Induction
    • Ensure employees ‘up to speed’ with new roles within 4 months as reported by feedback against induction objectives.
  • Social Interaction
    • People returning to work from parental leave are up to date on company activities generally and changes that affect their job/appointment.
  • Performance Management
    • Ensure all employees have performance objectives and active development plans in the new ‘MyPerformance&Development’ system by 30 June 2009.
    • All employees have a current position description which includes a core competency profile by October 2009.
  • Training and Development
    • Ensure all identified supervisors and managers have attended at least 1 of 3 modules of ‘Management Fundamentals’ by 15 December 2009.
    • Update Land Developments Sustainability Guidelines and develop program of sustainability training for staff.
